Question:- How to maintain smoothness in our whole body?

Answer:- The smoothness of your body is maintained both internally and externally. External application of a moisturizer daily after bathing will ensure your skin remains protected. Eating good fats such as nuts and seeds and foods rich in omega 3 will provide nourishment for your skin cells internally and thus keep them healthy.

Question:-Skin is very much dry even after moisturizing and it looks wrinkled

Answer:- I am not sure of which moisturizer you are used to but take one suited especially for dry skin like yours. The most effective way of moisturization is after bathing when the skin is still moist. Also, try to have omega 3 and vitamin E rich food as that will nourish your skin cells from within.Ā

Question:-I suffer from severe foot cracks during winters. Please share a care solution.
Answer:-You have something that you might be very familiar with called cracked feet. Apply white soft paraffin or any good but thick moisturizer after soaking your foot in warm water for 15-20 mins to that area every night. Thereafter, wear cotton socks before going to bed. This should help soften the hardened and cracked heel you seem to have got.

Question:- How to get rid of acne breakouts on my skin?
Answer:-If you are referring to acne, commonly called pimples, you need to understand why your body is breaking out in the first place. It could be just before your menses which is normal or could be related to the products that you might be applying to your face or could be a sign of underlying hormonal disturbance. Consult your dermatologist so that he/she can guide you better and correct it accordingly.

Question:-I get excessive dryness on my hands - like a scaly skin

Answer:-Hi Himanshi, there are various factors that could lead to the drying of your hands. Is it only during the winter? Do your hands come in contact with detergent or soap daily? There are many things that should be addressed before you actually treat it so that it does not recur again and again. But to get some relief, soak your hands in warm water for 15-20 minutes each night, thereafter apply white soft paraffin over the moist skin and let it get absorbed. Try to wear gloves before going to bed.

Question:-Is there a way to keep the skin supple through out the season?

Answer:-Your body can be kept supple both internally and externally. External application of a moisturizer daily after bathing will ensure your skin remains protected. Eating good fats such as nuts and seeds and foods rich in omega 3 will provide nourishment for your skin cells internally and thus keep them healthy.

Question:-I am allergic to sweaters and shawls? How to get rid of it ?

Answer:-You could be allergic to a particular material like wool or the dyes used in them. Try to get pure cotton sweatshirts if sweaters are hard to find and see how comfortable you are with them. In case you do have a true allergy, the only treatment is avoidance of that substance. There are various other materials like pashmina or silk shawls that don't seem to cause much discomfort. And if you cannot tolerate anything, then the only way is to avoid wearing that particular clothing material. For you, the best way to fight the cold then will be to layer your routine clothes to keep you warm.

Question:-I feel cold through out, but hate to wear socks as it gives me a foot allergy
Answer:-Are you allergic to a particular type of material of socks or just in general? Try organic cotton or other materials that you might feel more comfortable in. Otherwise you can try some comfortable soft footsie slippers that will keep your leg covered and warm.

Question:-Do you recommend any oil or home remedy for dry feet?
Answer:-Sesame oil is a good choice amongst the oils in moisturizing the skin during the winters. Try to soak your feet in warm water for 15-20 minutes each night, thereafter apply white soft paraffin or sesame oil if you prefer over the moist skin and let it get absorbed. Try to wear socks thereafter before going to bed. This should keep your feet soft and supple.

Question:-Chapped lips is a common family issue? Any remedies
Answer:-There can be a particular trait that is passed down through heredity and the drying of the lips could be one of it. In case you have a habit of unknowingly licking your lips with the tongue, try avoiding as that makes the lips dry. Apply a nice lip balm or simply some ghee or butter over your lips regularly to prevent it from getting dry.

Question:-My daughter's scalp becomes extremely dry and sheds dandruff in winters
Answer:-Drying of the scalp during the winters is common. But I'll advise getting a consultation once just to rule out any other cause that could be causing her scalp dryness and scaling as there are many conditions that look simply as dandruff but isn't in reality. In case the real reason is actually simply dandruff, use a ketoconazole-based shampoo for 5-10 minutes over the scalp during each head wash at least twice a week. There is no harm in giving a nice warm oil champi to your daughter's scalp, but make sure you wash off the oil while shampooing as oil remaining in the scalp can attract more dirt and increase her dandruff condition.
