What is Chafing?

Chafing is a common skin irritation problem that is usually caused by repetitive friction, mainly generated through skin-to-skin or clothing-to-skin contact. When a person moves, walks, runs for long hours or exercises, the skin gets rubbed against the skin  or against the clothing or footwear. As a result, some areas of the body like - the chest, nipples, underarms, thighs, groin and feet are prone to friction. This causes acute discomfort, redness, rashes or raw skin due to friction. It’s called Chafing.
